Photographer Laurel MacLeod

Laurel was born in 1977 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and raised on a century homestead in nearby MacPherson's Mills. She has worked as an IT Consultant, Technical Support Professional, Industrial Cleaner, House Painter, Private Tutor, Wedding Photographer, Construction Worker, & Labourer, and is currently working as an Executive Assistant for a local not-for-profit organization.
Though Laurel is well-traveled, having been all over Canada and parts of the U.S. and the world, including living in England for a year, she loves living in rural Nova Scotia, and doesn't plan on leaving any time soon.
Laurel is rarely ever able to sit still for long, and has a variety of hobbies, including photography (of course!) reading, cross-stitching, backpacking, motorcycle travel and maintenance, crocheting, website development, and her other passion, gardening (not counting her wonderful partner & husband, Rob!).
Laurel believes that life and our planet are what we make of them, and that the biggest dare we can take on is to be ourselves while still being true to our environment.
"Every part of the earth is sacred to my people. Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every meadow, every humming insect. All are holy in the memory and experience of my people." - Chief Seathl (Seattle).
You can see that she really believes this, by looking at her photography and seeing the love and joy she feels when looking at each plant.
If you wish to purchase a photograph, simply E-Mail Laurel for details. Single prints of various sizes and dimensions can be purchased, along with framed prints in standard sizes.
Finally, even if you're not interested in making a purchase right now, please wander through and enjoy Laurel's work for it's own sake - you can almost hear the bees in the the flower petals!
Don't forget to stop & smell the roses!

Artist Albert Farthing

Al was born and raised on a remote Alberta ranch in 1937. He has worked at
logging, ranching, carpentry and heavy construction, factory labor, sales,
and for thirty years pastoral ministry. He has learned much from each
vocation, and experienced a rich variety of co-workers.
Since 1992 he and his wife Jeanette have lived on a far edge of Canada,
where the waters of a Nova Scotia river meet the mighty, ever-changing
Atlantic Ocean. From their home they watch the hunting and playing of a
rich variety of birdlife, including eagles, herons and osprey.
Al spends most days creating arts and crafts. The name of his business,
"Projections from Soul Artworks", conveys the flavor of his creative
intention.
He views creativity as a work that is always in process, very much like the
turbulent Ocean. He understands that when we live and work from the depths
of our unique soul, every thought, word and action is acknowledged as a
grateful act of creation.
Al's life-experience has taught him this:
"Inner creativity is our most powerful gift, latent in every person
young-ancient. As we discover and embody our creative core, we recognize new
dimensions of our true identity."
As you look at the artwork, Al suggests that you simply enjoy it, and
let your heart tell you what is meaningful.
To savour the texture, detail and grain of a particular piece, click on
it for enlargement. It gives an awesome perspective!
For those who wish to own one of these artworks, most of it may be
purchased. Measurements and prices are not posted --- Al believes that
dialogue is the essence of life, and will be glad to discuss each piece,
with respect to symbolism, type of wood used, and where it came from. He
believes that art is too important to be treated as an ordinary commodity.
If you wish to purchase a photograph of any of Al's artwork, this can
be done. Laurel MacLeod, creator of this website, is a bubbling fountain of
creative energy, and she takes wonderful pictures.
